I had affixed some mirrored tiles onto my bedroom wall using velcro, and when removing the tiles and velcro strips from the wall, the velcro removed 2 or 3 layers of paint with it! How do I repair this? Will a simple sanding do it? I imagine I couldn't just paint overtop, as the paint layers would show in the texture..

I live in an apartment. If I do nothing to fix the paint chips, could the landlord keep the damage deposit, even though he would have to repaint after I leave anyways?

Sand it, skim-coat with drywall mud, sand lightly 'tll smooth and even, prime it to seal it, and 2-coat paint it.

lightly sand the sides of the chips with 150 grit sandpaper to feather the edge, next lightly sand the wall surface to smooth the paint. now you can use a small putty knife to fill the holes with either joint compound or light spackle. either one will shrink after it dries, so you will need to re coat it when it dries. after you are happy with the flatness of the repair, sand the wall about in about a one foot circle around each patch, so that it will be less noticeable, then apply a coat of primer to the areas. when that dries, apply a two top coats of paint to the repairs. you may find that you can hide the repairs better if you re paint the whole wall, or room. good luck, hope this helps.
