Why should we rescue your sailors? Is their army not good enough?
We're not Brits, and we have nothing to do with the UK.

You may be our best allies, but if the men of UK are in trouble, it is UK's responsibility to save them, not USA's.

It's pretty simple.

They are our allies, true, but what about Canadian soldiers when they were in trouble?

Canada's our ally.
Australia's our ally.
They went with us to Afghstanistan.
Why not rescue their soldiers too?

Britian needs to stop depending on America. Do something yourselves.

Well as they are our allies, we shall support them as they do support us. You and most liberals prove that the rights of the enemy are more important than our Allies. Its getting very sad and old. Why not start heading to Canada where your ideas are shared?

Yes, they are our allies and America stands by her allies. The UK can rescue it's own people with out a dought. They did not need our help in the Faulkens and they did just fine. The US is going to back the Brits no matter what and do you know why? They are a major part of our ancestry. If the shoe was on the other foot they would be right there by our side. Of that I have no dought. They are a proud people just as we are and they are only going to take just so much crap. Before they take action. They won't be asking anyones permission eaither.

Maybe the same reason USA expected UK to be the first to back them up in a war that shouldn't have been started in the first place they are allies fighting to back America its not Britain's war they were just good enough to give you a helping hand so you can at least try and do the right thing by them.

matt, the brits don't expect us to rescue their ppl. you're pulling that out of your @ss!! We would probably screw things up right now, threatening iran and putting them in a position where they would lose face for releasing the soldiers. If diplomacy fails, and it won't, then America should pound Tehran back into the stone ages AND WALK AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, I believe they are looking for our support. Second, I also understand with so many Muslims now in the UK they could be concerned about the increase of internal problems occurring if they struck out on their own.

Where did this come from (its news to me)? Britain has one of the most capable militaries in the world (small, but capable) and has more "reach" then any country other then the USA. Why would they possibly expect help in any way other then satellite intelligence and moral support?

I agree, mostly. I'm quite sure that if the situation were reversed, and Americans were held captive, the British would rock on their heels as usual and allow us to rescue our own men.

But, I do believe we can offer support such as intelligence, or surveilence information. I don't think we need to offer troops or put our boys into harms way. The British supposedly have Special Forces troops, let them use them. Earn your money.

We ( The USA ) are not the ones to do the dirty work for the entire world. Let them take care of themselves. We can be supportive, but on stand-by.

England is perfectly capable of rescuing their own troops. But they will not be alone when they do it.
