I work in a professional office environment, and am going to a art gallery showing with this girl...this is what I am wearing now...I think it looks good, but what do I know...

Black loafers, black pleated Dockers with a black belt. A stripped pale yellow Ralph Lauren button shirt (not tucked), with a black waist lenght Boss wool jacket.

Thanks

Sounds just fine, as long as the shirt doesn't extend to far down the torso/upper hips and look sloppy. Also sometimes a flat front trousers looks better, a more flattering line, but if you have the body type for it, then wear those. If for whatever reason you decide against the wool jacket or worry that that you might over heat in it, trade it out on your way to the date for a nice cashmere sweater, something simple that compliments the yellow striped shirt (what are the other colors?) possibly match it to that. Also leave the top button or two open, it's actually not sloppy looking under s a sweater or jacket. Like the other person said, go light on the cologne and have a great time. The attire is suited for the date. Have fun!

it sounds like you look very smart, definitely art gallery clothes! Whether you feel comfortable or not should be the only gauge for what to wear on a date. But unless you've got no time to get home and change, just apologise to your date(if you feel it's neccessary) and explain you came from work because you didn't want to make your time together shorter by going home first.

Lose the blazer, wear a brown cashmere polo-type (untucked) and get some kick-*** boots

Sounds good to me...as long as the shirt isn't too big it'll be okay untucked.

p.s. a little advice...don't go overboard on cologne!
Have fun!

Tuck the shirt and you're good to go. I'm old school I guess...

Sounds hott, stick with it, and leave your shirt untucked.

You should take a photo of yourself and put it somewhere for us to look at.
