Do i need to have a special equipment to if to work?
Or can i just have it installed on my car and it'll work same as with equipment?

Xenon High Intensity Discharge lights have ballasts. This is because they run at higher voltages than your car's electrical system can provide (around 300volts or so). Although they run at a higher voltage, they actually require less current (amps). No major modifications necessary to have HID. Just installation of the special bulbs and Ballast.

There are retrofit kits which just replace the bulbs, however they are illegal in the US as they are not approved for road use.

However, as you can tell from the number of cars that obviously use them that this doesn't stop people.

Basically the kit consists of the bulbs and ballasts.
