One mag goes" These are the best picks for ...! ( makeup)
another goes"These are this season's GOTTA HAVES.....!
I mean which one is actually the best? Why can't they just pick the best and stick with it?Its Confusing me !!

How do they pick the products they feature? When they say something is the best or # 1, is it really the best???

When they list a bunch of makeup as " Gotta Try" " Must Have"
"Top Picks" "Hottest trends" Are they really that good? Or did those products' company pay the mag to feature its products?
I mean every issue theres different" Top picks"
And I'm left with so many "Top PICKS" to pick from @! So confusing,
SOmebofy help me.

Whoa! Just because some magazine recommends a product does not mean you must purchase it!

First of all, yeah, they do pay to have their product mentioned. But much of the time the staff tests it out to see if it does what it's supposed to. If it does work pretty well, then it'll show up in the "Top Picks".

But if they say that a particular brand of silver eyeshadow is really great, but you already own one (or even five) that you are really happy with and you don't need to replace it yet, don't feel compelled to go out and buy that brand just to buy it. They're trying to sell to the girl who may never have even thought of buying silver eyeshadow to begin with.

So don't take it all so seriously. Royal blue is hot right now, but it it makes you complexion look bad, STAY AWAY!!!! Choose what works for you, not what might make some bigwig executive type happy.

Just know that the "Top Picks" usually means the product pretty much does what it claims to. Be happy, Beautiful!

They get paid to feature certain products. Just ignore the product list and follow the trends that suit you. You can always find cheaper versions of the products at your local drugstore or Target. Don't buy into the hype!!!

Well, I think Cosmo is just for *bathtub reading* ( I don't take it seriously. Elle is definitely a classier magazine. Vogue and Allure are my favorites, though. I'd stop looking at Cosmo if I were you. It's like The National Enquirer with glossy pics and how to have the greatest sex of your life. (wait, maybe Cosmo IS The National Enquirer! ) Ha.
