I'm mean I'm circumcised and I think that awareness and safer sex are more vital than just getting circumcised. What happens when men think that just being cut will help them? I think this can cause more harm than good.

What you have said is correct, being cut will not prevent HIV,only practicing safe sex will help.Telling people that getting cut will help prevent HIV will only give them a false sense of security and I am sure that this is going to lead to an increase not a decrease in the cases of HIV.In the 80s most American males were cut but that is where the first instances of HIV were recorded,Figure it out for yourself.Wearing a condom is the best way to help prevent HIV

Despite some recent studies, male circumcision is probably not the best idea in the crusade against HIV/AIDS. Circumcision doesn't prevent HIV, it merely appears to decrease the infection rates (there is no definitive cause-effect relation between circumcision and HIV). Awareness and safe sex are clearly more vital. What could end up happening is that men might get circumcised thinking they're protected from HIV; if they end up having unprotected sex more, they'll negate any benefit the circumcision might have provided.

Other studies show that proper genital hygiene essentially negates the benefit that circumcision is theorized to bring (see link 1). Also circumcision removes some specialized cells most concentrated in the foreskin; these cells were once thought to be a reason why HIV might infect uncircumcised men more - but the most recent research suggests that these cells prevent the HIV infection rates from being higher than they currently are (see link 2). A couple studies have also come out refuting the studies claiming that circumcision truly has a protective benefit from HIV (see link 3).

Circumcision doesn't prevent HIV. The story is that there is a higher incident of HIV in "natural" men but this logically is not by reason that cirumcision provides any form of protection.

HIV is transferred by the exchange of the virus at a microscopic level. HIV resides in the blood of an infected person. Blood exchange causes the virus to pass between the host and the victim. It is important to acknowledge that it is not sex that transmits HIV, but certain bodily fluids: blood, semen (including "pre-***"), vaginal secretions and breast milk. Blood exchange can occur through a tiny scratch, a sore tooth, a bleeding gum, mucous membranes, a weak point in the skin, include the lips, mouth, vagina, vulva, penis or rectum etc.

Scientists have also found no evidence of transmission through kissing, sweat, tears, urine or feces.

Always use a condom.

This is the first time I ever hear of this. None of the doctors or nurses I work with ever mentioned this possibility.
This could open a whole new can of worms.
Can you imagine a guy saying "hey it's ok, I'm cirmumcised, I can't give you hiv." It's like the old "withdrawal method" of birth control - which is NOT a method of birth control by the way.

Education is what we need to prevent HIV not circumcision. Try slapping on a condom.

It boggles the mind how ignorant people are in this day and age.
For heavens sake people, you obviously have a computer with the internet why don't you look up FACTS????
I just don't get how people can continue to be so uneducated.
If that's not bad enough, you all insist on passing your ignorance around.
READ people. It's not just fun, it's fundamental.
Idiots.
