Hi!
My entire life I have always hated my nose and someday wanted to get a nose job. Well a month ago I had an accident and found out I now have a deviated septum that needs fixing. So I'm thinking...hmm maybe this is my blessing in disguise and my solution. Has anyone had this and then fixed? Was your nose reshaped? Did it look different and look better? Or am I hoping for to much? Thanks for your time and help!! :)

Fixing your deviated septum would not change the appearance of your nose. You would need rhinoplasty (nose job) for that. Deviated septums are fixed in order to make breathing easier, reduce sinus infections, etc.. The surgery is fairly painful and there is a lot of bleeding involved, but I know people who are so glad they did it. They breathe much easier, don't sound nasally when they speak and don't get sick as often.

the septum is located inside the nose. you will not really notice a change to the outside of your nose, but you will notice lots of differences inside -less infections, better smells, easier to breathe.

My brother had this done. His nose doesn't really look much different because he didn't want it changed, but it helps his breathing. Looked pretty painful though.

I know someone who had it done because she was a singer and wanted to improve her voice--it wasn't even a medical issue. Her nose looked nice.
