I think fish is bad because of mercury levels in the water they lived in. But my doctor told me I can safely eat tuna and fish two servings a week. But for sure no sushi---eeeww anyway right?

I used to crave it alot during pregnancy too but I made myself stay away from it because I've heard the mercury in it can cause birthdeffects i actually saw a show where this woman had ate tuna everyday while pregnant and had two pregnancies back to back and both children were born autistic so the whole birthdeffect thing was just enough for me if i were you i just wouldn't eat it anymore its better to be safe than sorry

It isn't bad to eat fish while pregnant (except raw fish). The main thing that people are worried about is the mercury levels in the fish.
The article link below says that you can safely eat 8 oz of canned "light" tuna per week with no adverse side effects for you or your baby.
Other great varieties are fresh water fish that include salmon, rainbow trout, and canned mackerel.

It isn't fish it's the mercury in some fish. You are ok to eat some tuna. Just don't eat tons of it every day.
Enjoy the cravings and satisfy them. It's the best time of your life! :0)

I havent heard that it is bad to eat tuna durring pregnancy!!
Say "Yes" To Seafood
Although no single food alone can make a person healthy, eating more seafood is one way that most of us can help improve our diets—and our health. Many of the studies about beneficial omega-3 fatty acids focus on fish as the primary source. Salmon, sardines, tuna and even shellfish are rich in omega-3 fatty acid content, but increasing your consumption of all types of fish and seafood is recommended.

I also heard that it is safe in moderation. The worry is the level of mercury in tuna. One serving isn't going to hurt you. I think 1-2 per week is safe! Congratulation and Good luck for a healthy, happy baby =)

It does have to do with the mercury levels in tuna. Limit tuna intake to 2 weekly.
