Now I can't activate it without it.

Easiest solution. Get online to the software manufacturer and contact them either by e-mail or phone and tell them the problem. They will give you a new cd-key. I know, I have done the same thing myself haha! I did have to send them a pic of my cd though, but I am sure they will help you. If you take some other suggestions like a bootleg key generator, believe me, when your software hits the internet, the software manufacturer can disable your program. Power-DVD is good about doing that, so just contact the manufacturer and you will be OK.

Use a freeware replacement. Media Player Classic will play DVD's, and has lots more options. It just isn't as skinnable or pretty as other programs.

Use a torrent download site and download a key or keygen.

some hacker installation have serial number in their CD... search it again in every folder...
