What are some good MMORPG's (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games)?

I currently play RuneScape but I do not know other good games. Especially free ones and browser based games.

I heard that Silkroad Online is quite nice and free but what other good games are out there?

Trying to look for games that doesn't have more than $5 monthly fees. World of WarCraft costs too much....

If you wanna play free games, I got two great website for you referrence, http://www.mmosite.com and http://www.onrpg.com both of them are awesome, try to find the best fit by yourself.

From my personal perspective, I would suggest some good as follow. You can find their fansites from mmosite, such as http://sof.mmosite.com http://9dragon.mmosite.com etc.

Scions of fate: http://fate.netgame.com (cute & popular mmorpg)
9 Dragons: http://9dragons.acclaim.com (ultimate action mmorpg)
Corum Online: http://corum.gpotato.com (brand new 3D mmorpg, look nice)
Silkroad Online: http://www.silkroadonline.net (maybe one of the best free mmorpg, but huge grind unless you buy the virtual currency)

Well, in all honesty, Runescape has the lowest "members" fee I know of in any MMORPG. So, you're pretty much stuck to free MMOs.

Silkroad is a popular one, although it largely depends on your taste. You could go for 9Dragons, Maple Story, Flyff, Trickster, or a number of other MMOs.

Most people tend to go to Maple Story from Runescape, although this is not always the case. The long grind is familiar, but the game is more action oriented and the community is generally teen-aged.

MMORPG.com has a great list of free MMOs as well, with a bit of info on each. Sadly, Runescape is pretty much the end-all of browser-based MMO games, there's only a few starting up at this point in time.

I'd suggest Silkroad or Maple Story to start.

Ragnarok is a big one out there, have a look for that one, I think the proper servers have a small subscription fee but there are many private servers out there that are very big (400 players online at a time or more) The game is a 1GB download so make sure you have a good net speed
