He changed the locks without my knowledge or consent. I kicked in the door to get all of my stuff out. Can he still press charges on me?? What rights do i have as an occupant????

I don't know about pressing charges, call the police and ask. But I do know that if you are a legal resident, which you were and he didn't let you have access to your things, he'd be a real idiot to press charges. Go to small claims court and see what recourse you have. What he did was illegal. Next time, call the police when he is there, have a moving van and get all your stuff.

You'll be ok. He's a d***. Be glad you found out now what kind of guy he is.

As an occupant you do have a right to go in there and get your stuff. You've established residency there and it's not that easy for him to throw you out.

You can't make any changes to the lease, renew the lease, or add anyone. But you do have the right to go in there, as that's still your legal residence.
