(1-5^(1/2))/2 is nothing special, however (1+5^(1/2))/2 is the golden ratio which is 1.618033989.

5^(1/2) mean sqrt of 5

1- sqrt 5 = -1.236067978

then divided by 2 = -0.618033988

Do you want a numerical answer because you can simply plug it into the calculator and get the answer.

Or you can simply approximate like this:
The expression is 1 minus the square root of 5, which is about 2.25 i would say, which equals -1.25.
then -1.25/2 is -.63 approximately.
