As you are so clear to point out, when reviewing the opinions of others dismissed so long ago as being outrageous, one will find that they are being accepted at some level today. If one defines Socialism, and understands what it really is, you will see that America is already implementing it to some degree. Medicare, Social Security, public schools, foodstamps...all of these are great "socialist" benefits. On the other hand, the "lowest common denominator" syndrome as I like to call it, forces us to dull our lives so that no one feels offended or left out. We should raise the intelligence of our population not paint it with beige. Unfortunately the public will slowly accept of the less favorable aspects of socialism never realizing what they've given up in the process.
Every policital environment has it's good and bad qualities. It's just too bad we as a society can't choose to simply take the best from all plans.

I would agree that our country has become far too liberal and communistic in the last few of decades.
My mom told me a back when I was a kid that the communists had said back in the 60's that they did not need to fight us, they would defeat us from within. They would infiltrate our churches, schools and government, a little at first and then more and more, taking over in a subtle way.
This definitely seems to be have been happening for quite some time now.

I've no doubts in my mind. The libs in this country want the government in every aspect of our lives. No individual rights as described by the Founding Fathers of this country. Little by little, they are chipping away at the very fabric of what made this nation, at one time, strong.
Lawyers and special interest groups are hurting this country to the point of being irrepairable. We now have judges on the bench who are dictating laws, rather than interpreting them as the Constitution requires them to.
The libs are trying to take away individual rights to own and possess a firearm. The Founding Fathers knew that if the government went amok, that the individual armed citizen could still restore this country to it's originally intended design, by force if needed. And they realized that a person has a right to self-protection.
At the rate we are going, we will truly end up socialist "peasants" of this government. The government will dictate to us what we can, or cannot do. And we will be powerless to change it, unless we stand against it now.

It is true the government is taking over every area of our lives and since this liberal agenda has been so readily accepted everything in our society has deteriorated.
More crime, children engaging in sex, filth in all forms of media, taxes benefiting politicians, their donors, their pet projects, slanderous and lying media readily accepted, broken homes, taxes going for illegal immigrants, giving aid and comfort to enemies in times of war, expelling God from our schools, courts, etc.
Nothing good has come from their agenda and it unfortunately will only get worse.

Any country where Hillary Clinton would be considered a serious candidate by anyone, and where Nancy Pelosi is the Speaker of the House, is by definition headed down a socialist path.

It IS the Liberal agenda. Swallow it though it is a bitter pill. Over half of Americans welcome big Daddy government to take responsibility for their lives and welfare.
