speaking with? Today at work, I had a customer call several times (5 before noon), wanting somthing that I could not give her.. each time she became more rude and condescending. I was trying to be nice... and settle her down, nothing worked. (what I really wanted to do was just jump right through the phone lines and confront her in person!) But being the co-owner of the company... and having an obligation to be professional, I could not even put her in her place, in a way that would have satified me... I had to forward the call to my business partner.

I know what you mean... I had a woman call my business once and talk down to me because she thought I was just the secretary. She totally belittled me and when she came to the store and realized I was the owner and not the "dumb" secretary, her face dropped. She apologized over and over but I've never forgot that incident and I treat people with more respect now even if they're on the phone.

I use to work in a call center when I was going to school. And the only thing that would get me thru with the nut job phone calls was:
I would say to myself THANK GOD I am not related to these people, and I don't have to spend the holidays with them. It helped a lot!
