How come when you put a lot of pressure on your eyes you see vivid colors. Like when I do it I see yellow and black zigzags, flashes of purple and light blue, and more. Why is this though?

The phenomena you are referring to are called pressure phosphenes. Rubbing or "putting pressure" on the eyes stimulate the photoreceptor cells of the retina which send signals to the brain which are interpreted as colors or shapes.

The inside of the eye is filled with a semi liquid fluid and when you press on the eyeball that liquid puts pressure against the retina which the brain interpretes as random color images.

That's the optical nerves sending signals to the brain the brain confuse the pressure with light stimulation, meanwhile the extra pressure is permanently damaging your eyes.

First, you probably shouldn't put that much pressure on your eyes.

It is because you are stimulating the nerves that cause normal vision of these wild colors.

Yes I know it's a cheap way to get a light show, but it's not good for your eyes. Don't do it.
