Garcia was/is a really solid QB, and in my opinion, the Eagles were a better team with him, as his teammates rallied around him. I was sorry to see them let him go, especially to a team that will not have any use for him (Gruden has ruined the Bucs, just he did the Raiders).

I liked the Don Henley answer from earlier.
I think Don Henley crashed a party once at the same school Jeff Garcia was quarterback at during the mid 70s.

It wasn't up the Eagles as far as I'm concerned- Garcia wanted playing time, and while McNaab is in Philly, and healthy, he just won't get the opportunity, hence, him going to Tampa.

As far as wether it is good or bad, McNabb is undoubtedly the QB of that team, so they don't lose much- sure depth at QB#2 is now a question, but if McNabb is healthy, its a non-issue.

To keep him, the Bird would have had to spend a lot of extra cash that we needed for the offseason (getting Krugar, Curtis, Spikes, Free Agents from our team extc.) Plus paying him that kind of money is kind of rediculous since we have McNabb still as our starting QB, even if he is injury prone. Also paying a 39 year old QB starting money for 2 seasons will get us no where in the long run.

Jeff Garcia is kind of old and I don't think he is worth keeping. What they should have done however was sign him ang trade him a high draft pick or for some defensive players.
