very warm to the touch (almost hot). Is this normal? The comp is running fine but I am wondering if I need a heat spreader for my new ram module. These things are pretty expensive these days. Any comments appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, it's normal.

You can buy HeatSinks if you're worried. My DDR2 came with HeatSinks already on them, but they are cheap anyway.

HeatSinks spread the heat out evenly and let it dissipate better.

It's normal for any computer internal part to be warm and yes, even hot, don't wory unless it gets too hot to touch.

Hope this helps:)
