Giving you Kobe as the best scorer...
Nash as the best point...
Dirk as MVP...
KG gives you....
23PPG 13REB 4.2 AST
PPG he's 14th
Reb he's 1st
Assits he's 38th (with no other big man in the top 50)
KG's HAS to be the games best all around player, right? If not, then who?

MVP is NOT the best overall player.
How do you explain O'Neal NEVER winning one even when he was at his most dominating point(01, 02 or 03)?

Another disagreement... NO ONE could make the Twolves win 45-50 by themselves. Have you seen the roster?
And this... MARION- you're giving me a guy who is entrenched in a talent laden team, so I'll give you that. BUT he hasn't ever proven he can put up top of the league number yet. Garnett has and is.
AND Nash did a pretty good job turning the Suns around. Kidd almost single handedly turned the Nets from a joke to 2 time East champs. Cmon, do your research.

Show me assists(even) rebounds (KG) blocks (KG) steals (Kobe) and TO (KG) if you want to convice me that Kobe can do everything on the court that KG can...

Kidd's pretty good. You're right about triple doubles.

again... i love Kidd. But are you saying it's EASY for KG to lead the NBA in rebounds? Really? Easy? C'mon now... he's not an average rebounder... he's the BEST rebounder. Not easy my friend, not easy.

When you say "all-around", you're implying a player that has no weaknesses, either skills or mentally. KG would certainly rank very high on this list, as would Jason Kidd, Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Dirk Nowitzki, Shawn Marion, and Tim Duncan.
Takind a closer look, KG's go to move (fade away baseline jumper) has a high level of difficulty, especially late in games when his legs and arms are getting tired. This is why KG fails as a #1 option. Jason Kidd is a slow defender and a flawed outside shooter. Kobe can do it all, but sometimes he forgets that he has teammates. T-Mac can be selfish at times as well, and is injury prone. Dirk is a poor defender and (so far) has choked in the clutch. Shawn Marion has the ugliest jump shot on earth, and is not a very good passer. And, Tim Duncan can't make free throws.
If you're looking for the one player in the NBA who is the most difficult to find flaws with? Dwayne Wade.

Garnett is awesome. Too bad there is no one able to step up and play well with him. I have to start wondering is it the people around him or he has to change the way he plays.
I am a Kidd fan and I think he is the best all rounder (at least as PG). Garnett can easily get rebound as he is a PF, and his assists mostly come from double teaming him and dish out. Kidd has to work for the rebounds and assists. Also kidd is an excellent defender.
None of the less, KG is awesome and he should take more shot in the offensive end rather than having Mike James and Ricky Davis chucking up bricks! Kidd and KG will work well together but too bad both are getting old!

All around player. All around would be Kobe. KG has lots to learn about foot work and man to man D. He is good, even great, but no Kobe! Any team would give up any 1, 2, 3, or even 4 players for Kobe. The Lakers did in a way! They let Shaq go! Kobe can play G, SG, and SF... he can sometimes guard and play against PF, like Dirk and KG! I've seen it. He has more speed and foot work that can help him shoot around and over big guys. Now if only he could shoot over C's, the Lakers would have won over Memphis two days ago! Even if it was a foul, he shouldn't shoot over a 7 foot shot blocker. KG would have had a better try at it, but he still would have missed cuz Kobe has a better concentration level for clutch shots!!! That's one thing that puts him over the rest in the NBA today!

I love KG...but
he hasn't learned to make the players around him better (I know he's had some lame talent to work with but he's also had so good talent there...Cassell and Sprewell)
Who did MJ really play with other than Pippen when he won all those championships? He knew how to get other players involved and draw out their (somewhat limited) potential.
The only player like that today is...(drumroll please) ...KOBE
The Lakers would have been right there with San Antonio if not for all the injuries. Lamar is great but who else do they have that would log regular (30+) minutes with any other team in the NBA.
And Nash...as much as I love him...plays alongside Amare (All-Star) and Marion (All-Star), and they would be All-Stars on any other team in the League.
If you are starting a team from scratch, as a general manager, you start with Kobe.
As a side note: KG has an outside scorer in Davis and a PG that tore it up last year in James...what happened?
And Dirk...great player surrounded by other very good players

I'd like to open with a comment for that rock smoker Eric D...you put your ignorance on full display by saying a KG for Nash trade would gaurentee the T. Wolves 45 to 50 wins. Keep in mind Nash has played with all-star talent his entire career (Nowitzki, Finley, Marion, Stoudamire). So yeah, I think you could win a few games passing to those guys. He's also had top notch coaches in Don Nelson, Avery Johnson and now D'antoni. So in your world maybe Nash would win with Ricky Davis, Mike James, Randy Foye, and Mark Blount trailing on the fast break break! Don't forget coach Wittman on the sideline! LOL! Anyway...back to reality! I would have been really short and to the point if it wasn't for that comment, but to finally answer your question, yes KG is the best all around player on both ends.

How about Shawn Marion:
FG 51%, Ft% 80
17.3 PPG 10.1 REB 1.7 AST
2.0 SPG 1.5 BPG
just so versatile...he can guard any player in the league besides SHAQ..but then again no one else in the league can really guard SHAQ one on one...
he creates mismatches on offense/defense... he is only 6'7 but can play like a 6'11 guy.. or handle the ball like a pg... the reason he doesn't get more assists is because of Steve Nash.. his turnovers are lower than Nash too...
i believe that if you put him on anyteam in the NBA...that team will definetly make the deep into the playoffs..
..thats right,,,,anyteam...
...Steve Nash, Kobe, Paul Pierce, Jason Kidd nor KG can give that to a team

I'll agree. If he had to, KG could play every position on the court. I bet he'd make a better than average PG, even as tall as he is. He's like Magic in that way.
Best ALL AROUND player is not the same as the best player though. I'm close to agreeing with you on all of your points though.

KG plays on a crappy team and he seems to loaf it when his team isn't in the game. Gotta go with Nash.
If a trade happend and Minnisota traded Nash for KG then
the T-wolves they'd probably have won 45-50 games this year.
The MVP is the best overall player.

I agree it would have to be Kevin Garnett. He has great ball handles and movement (not just for a big man). Yet he is a defensive force. Can shoot the mid range jumper, post moves, dunk, power moves, etc. He is a great passer, scorer, rebounder, blocker. Also to mention he is your go to guy on a team, and can rely in the clutch.
