Lopez is a decent SS, but suffers from DC syndrome and Cabrera is no better than Vizquel. For that, you're thinking of giving up Z. Are you nuts?

No Deal Howie!!

Don't do it. Look at it this way. At best one of those guys (Lopez or Cabrera) gives you a slight improvement over your current SS and this in no way counter-acts the hit you take in getting nothing back from Zambrano. You are losing 17-20 wins over the year at Pitcher plus 190+k's along with a pitcher who will help keep your WHIP down.

2 players for him might be alright if the situation is right, but never 2 players at the same position (and especially 2 players who are marginal to good at their position, although Lopez is a good base stealer).

I would say keep Zambrano and scout the waiver wire if you really want to get younger at SS. Tuzlowzki in Colorado is a rookie who got the starting gig over Barmes and monitor the LA Angels and their prospect Brandan Wood, if he gets called up to the bigs during the year pounce on him quickly, and you will still have Big Z giving you all the pitching studliness he brings.

Stay with your pitching. You have an advantage in the category, don't trade that advantage away for 2 mediocre SS's. Lopez will help with steals, about 40 is normal. If you are desparate for SB's you might consider it. But I would keep the pitching advantage for now and if you are low on steals wait until July to start offloading a pitcher for SB's. Let your pitching run up your innings pitched first. Toward the middle of the season when you see a team that is desparate for pitching you can get more value out the pitchers.
You can still find value at SS on the waiver wire, Nick Punto is often forgotten but can still provide some useable numbers.
Or take a chance on Troy Tulowitzki. You may still find some useable numbers at the bottom of the pile, keep an eye on the KC situation with Tony Pena Jr. If he takes a bench seat to Esteban German then Esteban would make a useable SS with decent avg after completing his 5 games to qualify at the position.

Zambrano is a stud, and you can deal him for a serious bat given the other good pitchers you have.

Think of fantasy baseball like football. The games are won with the running backs and Qb's in football. In baseball it is the starters, OF and 1B primarily. SS is like Tight end or kicker. There are a few excellent ones, but other than that, most of the guys out there are not much better than what you can pluck from the waivers

God no thats horrible. Zambrano is a top pitcher. Cabrerra and Lopez in most leagues are bench players and sometimes not even drafted. (I am sure you can go strait up Zambrano for M Young in most leagues if your that worried about your SS position.

Dont do that trade. 2 crappy ss is not = to one good SS

they only ss u should trade zambrano for is either hanley ramerize or jose reyes only cause with both u will get 100 runs 15-20 hrs 70+ rbis and 40+sbs and a avg around .300 and they both are young so less chance of injury compared to the older guys

zambrano is too good gor those guys, why dont you trade the overrated and unproven dice-k (who got rocked by the orioles) for an underrated ss who will actually do something for your team (like edgar renteria) and something else you may need

It depends on who you already have for ss every day players are far more valuable than putchers anyday.
