I subscribed to Norton antivirus software in 2006. I had no problem with an outburst of unwanted ads. As soon as I loaded the 2007 Norton 360 package I was flooded with ads. I want to get rid of them. Please help.

sounds like adware to me. and norton as antivirus can fight viruses only. you need an anti-spyware to fight all other threats. i recommend spyware doctor as it's most reputable these days. here's a download: http://www.2-spyware.com/review-spyware-doctor.html

Yes, Ad-Aware is free and is good, however you might want to consider not allowing so many cookies. It may reduce the ads. From Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, carefully review the Privacy, Security and Content tabs.

Run Disk Cleanup frequently.
Delete Cookies and offline files

You have Adware.
Download Adaware (Ad Aware... as in Aware of Ads)

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Best Anti-Adware/Spyware on the market. It's free too with paid options.

Internet Explorer alows websites to download and run malicious programs on your computer... WITHOUT YOU KNOWING!

That's why Firefox is so popular. It does not allow this to happen.

You can find FF here
