I can't go to the hood it kind of scares me. I went over to a relatives house, and was nervous the whole time. If a large group of black people came in the room I would get real nervous, start laughing, and just get jittery. Am I the only person who does this?

Don't listen to the people calling you racist and stuff, the statistics clearly show you are in a high crime area so you are right to feel uneasy. Nothing wrong with that at all, it is your minds way of saying "I don't belong here and need to leave before I get shot or raped". Having lived in a true ghetto before, I doubt any of the people calling you racist would enjoy being in there either.
It has nothing to do with stereotypes or misconceptions you are in a high crime area, and that is a reason to be nervous/ on your guard. Thats a fact these other people need to get used to, people are less likely to pop a cap in your @$$ in other areas of town, these people are violent and love the "thug life"...that being said I leave you with parting words ...stay in school
I mean really, it wouldn't be a ghetto without crime would it?

Unfortunately you are part of the problem that makes the "hood" a "hood". I live in D.C. and the city is very split; southeast is the "worst area" and no one steps there. As a result there are no jobs, and people are very poor, which sometimes leads to crime, robberies etc... If somebody turned around and looked at the people living in those conditions, then maybe they would lose their hostility. Hostility is the least you can expect when you take a whole neighborhood and sometimes a whole race and step on it like it was a cockroach. Next time you go to the hood, look around you, does anyone look happy? Or are they as scared ,if not more, as you are?

NO I also feel this way. I'm black and mexican but I never knew the black side of my family and I live in a suburban area plus it didn't help that I went to an all white catholic school. i've never had any black interaction until recently. When I go around my signifigant others family I get a lil nervous. They are the nicest people in the world but I'm still a lil nervous around black people. and no I'm not a racist cuz I'm black myself.

I live in a neighborhood where a lot of "Thugs" or just loud people live, and at times going to a friends house, their company are loud people, some Black and some Hispanic, if they are welcoming, I'm not scared which is most of the time, but some people are just rude, but I don't let it get to me and I don't slip my tongue to where I may have to fight for my life, because it's not worth it.

You need to open your mind and stop watching so much television. I've lived around the "ghetto" (dunno if it's the literal since of the word, but it's a bunch of black people in a poor neighborhood) for my entire life and not once have I been robbed and not once has a person attempted to hurt me.
I find that I'm more frightened in suburbia!
And thanks for the compliment. :-)

no, I used to do that when I was younger, but then I grew up. you live and you learn. It used to intimidate me, because a lot of our people are ghetto and I'm not. , but it doesn't intimidate me anymore.

Yes, you are the only idiot who thinks this way. You are a victim of biased stereotypes... they might be scared of you because you're a dingbat...Get off your azz and stop letting TV brainwash you.
Do you feel better now because you asked a stupid azz question?
