Yes, it could have been to early.
There is always a chance of having a false negative but no such thing as a false positive.
I know some home pregnancy test say you can test 5 days before your period or a day after your missed period, BUT
with both of my kids, it took 3 weeks before it showed up on a test.
So I would advise to get a pregnancy test with two in them. Take it and if it still says negative then wait another week and then take the other one.
Good luck.

I took a pregnancy test when I was about 5 weeks pregnant and it came up negative... a week later I took another and it was positive. I guess sometimes women get false negatives because there is not enough hormone in their urine, but a blood test from the doctor would probably be 100% accurate at this point. They say that some HPT can detect pregnancies 5 days before a missed period, but in the fine print it usually says something a long the lines of results not typically accurate at that point etc... good luck

Yes you can get a false negative early on in your pregnancy the hormones may not have built up yet. Take a blood test to be sure. Try planned parenthood they may do it for free.

yes...alot of ppl do get a false neg preg test!....because they are testing to early! which does sound like you did!...Take another test in a couple days ( tests from the dollar store work wonderful) to be sure and if its still a neg. then you should wait another week and test again!...it should tell you for sure by week 2 after your missed period..sometimes alot sooner!...you would just be less disappointed if you take it when you know the result will be more accurate!

yes it could have been too early for a pregnancy test to detect it. i would go see your doctor and have them take a blood test. they are most accurate.
