If any of you don't know, Iran has just recently taken hostage British sailors and Marines off the coast of Iran from the Shatt Al-Arab waterway.

No. This is not a "hostage" situation. This is a maritime dispute between two countries. This should be settled by diplomacy. And it will be settled- eventually. A military intervention would be DISASTEROUS, no matter how it turned out.
