The NFL is trying to make the sport popular in other countries. And American football is a good game. Soccer may be more about individual athleticism and gracefulness and creativity of individual athletes, but American football has more strategy and more opportunities to out-think your opponent. It's also quite a bit more violent. Give American football a shot. I like to watch both soccer and American football, but I'll watch American football if given the choice.

And by the way, American football people, if Europeans played American football instead of soccer, then like half of all NFL players would be European. A lot of these soccer players are freaking incredible. There are at least 5 soccer players I can name off the top of my head who I think have the speed and the moves of a guy like Reggie Bush.

When it was announced that the NFL was coming to London, the web site crashed. Wembley Stadium has a 85.000 capacity and more than 100.000 tickets has been asked for. This is without counting season ticket holders in Miami who have the first right to the tickets. NFL is very popular in the UK with SKY TV broadcasting 2 live games on a Sunday (and two more on the interactive channel) so in total of 4 games on a Sunday and also Channel 5 doing the Monday Night Live Game!! Every year there is a huge super ball party in London with over 1000 people attending. I think the NFL are looking to expand the with 4 more teams, and are now looking to see what interest NFL will attract abroad and to be more precise, in England and Mexico

The London Monarchs were a great NFL Europe team until they moved to Cologne, Germany.

THEN London realized the money they were losing.
Last game I attended, in London, saw 20 thousand spectators.

If you are taking wagers - let me know...

Football in Europe is actually quite popular- they have the Centurions and the Galaxy play all the time in the NFL Europe league, two high quality teams and they attract high crowds week by week, despite not having big name players.

Acknowledgment of a real sport.

Anything can be better than watching a game with a score ending 0-0 after 90 minutes of boredom.

We made a promise to Cornwallace, back when we kicked Great Britians asses, that some day we'd send them real athletes, even if just for one day, so that they could see what real sports were. So his family called the NFL, complaining about how they only have pussyball (which we call soccer) and football for girls (which we call rugby). The NFL, as part of its goodwill mission, is also going to try and introduce the British to toothpaste, shampoo, and soap.

You show you lack of knowledge of the game by calling it a "game of catch". The NFL is trying to do what all businesses try to do with their prodcut - take it global.
