Ii would bring her BACK to the emergency room again!!! they must do a work up to rule out any form of sepsis such an a respiratory infection or a urinary tract infection, among many others. Do not feel shy or foolish about returning as many times as is necessary! Often, in my experience, when parents return several times with the complaint of a recurrent undiagnosed fever, they will admit for further workup.

If you have a children's hospital anywhere around you I would take her there. They will treat you right. If not you can and should put your foot down and demand that they find out what is going on. It could be just her teething or it could be something more. Why take the chance? As for getting that fever down the pain relievers are good but not always enough. Don't put her in an ice bath. That's not needed and could be dangerous. Just use Luke warm water and cover her lightly when she sleeps. A little fever is OK but shouldn't be high for to long of a time. If it's the high fever that you see most of the time and it's not going away easily she needs to be seen right away. Also watch out for dehydration. if shes not wetting her diapers or if there's no tears when she cry then she needs to be seen right away. You may find that she can't hold anything down when her fevfer is high. That could just be because of the fever. I'm a mother of five and have seen colds, flu, strep throat, chicken pocks, scarlet fever, ear infections, hernia, appendicitis, and more. I've been there and this is the knowledge I got for all of it. I hope it helps you.

Godd luck.:)

fevers are actually good in a way ...fevers mean the are fighting off something. Keep up with the Motrin at 6 months she could be teething as well..for that i would give her some Hylands tablet (walgreen, CVS, Walmart) they are all natural and calm babies too.

Did they check the babies ears? could be an ear infection starting. But 102-104 i wouldnt worry to much as long as baby is happy and not to uncomfortable.

Cool washrags will help with fever as well

Keep her well hydrated too

well for one thing if ur baby is 6mos. with a fever that high and motrin/tylenol isn't working then u need to go back to the doctor or a different hospital. u shouldn't let a fever that high go on for five days, especially not on a 6mo. old baby. if the doctors say they dont kno, then get a second opinion somewhere else and dont leave until they take necessary action (ie hospital admittance, blood tests....)

I would definitely go back to the ER and demand that they do further tests. A 6 month old baby should never go with a fever that high. If you have to, take the baby to a different hospital.

It may be a urinary tract infection have they taken a urine sample? This happened to my friends daughter but she was immediately admitted to the hospital because that's a high temperature for a baby and can cause seizures. If you get too worried I'd take her to the ER. It's probably some type of bacterial infection.

Egg whites. Soak strips of cloth in egg whites. Wrap them around her feet, put some large sock over that. Leave on feet until fever is gone. Should see it going down within a couple of hours. Do it now.

im not sure i would take my child back to that hospital, is there another hospital near by that you can take her too?

my doctor said that anything over 101 is something serious and i would worry that friday might be too long, whatever it is could get alot worse, it is better to be safe than sorry even if you have to drive further to get help

Take her back to the doctors and demand treatment.Youdo not muck around with babies and high fever. SHE NEEDS TO SEE A PAEDITRICIAN TO PUT YOUR MIND AT REST.
