because repugicans want that companies should be able to do with you - an employee - whatever they want. They want to return to the days where companies literally owned your life, like coal miners who in the early years worked for nothing more but to pay all their wages to the "company store", the "company doctor" the companies housing, schools, and anything else you now take for granted you get for benefits...none of you have a .....unions ARE working people banding together to get what they deserve for making a company profitable. The companies who can are going overseas because they can pay wages to those workers half or less than a worker here and no benefits to boot. And they don't have to care about worker safety ether, anyone dies in a company accident, - no problem!!, there's 100's of starving people to take their place. The only thing they've had to teach them is broken English.... To those who ***** about the protection of bad workers, "unreasonable demands", and other things unions are accused of - why is that so bad when any incompetent or greedy CEO can walk away from a company with a negotiated "severance package" worth MILLIONS AND STILL GET HEALTH CARE FOR LIFE?? And in many cases still have a job serving on the companies board of directors getting paid like they hadnt gotten fired at all? ....And ***** because the union wants cost-of-living raises, health care, and safety upgrades for the workers? .....repugnicans LOVE working people to vote against gay marrage & abortion while repugnicans vote to re-enslave the American worker while stuffing their pockets with cash..

The real problem with unions is the fact that they have become too powerful. They can almost dictate company policy to the leaders of a company, whether that is in the best interest of the company or not. The financial troubles at all the major American auto manufacturers and some of the airlines can be traced to pension plans that unions forced businesses to start that are far too big for any company to afford. Unions do serve an important purpose, protecting the rights of workers, but there needs to be a balance of power between unions and corporate leadership where both can work together for the common good rather than each working for their own good.

the actual issue with unions is the actual undeniable reality that they are getting too sensible. they could very almost dictate business enterprise coverage to the leaders of a business enterprise, no matter if that is interior the perfect interest of the business enterprise or no longer. The economic problems at each and each of the numerous American vehicle manufacturers and many of the airways may be traced to pension plans that unions compelled businesses to commence that are a concepts too large for any business enterprise to have the funds for. Unions do serve an important purpose, conserving the rights of workers, yet there ought to be a stability of potential between unions and company administration the position both can artwork mutually for the common solid quite than each and each operating for his or her personal solid.

They don't like unions because they destroy good American companies like Ford And GM. The unions make unreasonable demands that can't be met and these companies go nearly bankrupt because they are forced to pay these union thugs $50 an hour for idiot work. Why do you think cars are so expensive? Unions at a certain time in our history were a good thing, but they have gotten out of control.

I dislike unions of TODAY because I think they do more harm than good.
Many companies are leaving the US rather than give into stupid union demands. Unions also protect bad workers - the teacher's union is a prime example of this.
I had a part-time job many years ago and I had to join a union. It cost A LOT of money and I got NOTHING from it. No one liked it but no one can refuse to be a teamster.

The simple answer is this: repubs are pro-big business, and they and their big business owner buddies want to be in total control of the workers, it's no secret that they would rather pay a non-livable wage so they can have more profits.
