There was actually a study done in the 1900s, trying to measure how much the soul weighs by weighing a dying dying person before and after he dies. There are really no conclusive findings. The results vary, but 21 grams is what many people regard as the soul's weight (probably an arbitrary number).

There's actually a movie titled "21 grams" for this reason. good movie. check it out.

Your body gets lighter because you decompose and lose water. The loss of the soul, wherever it goes, is not what causes the weight loss.

I think souls are just spiritual figures that people created in order to explain for spiritual thoughts and unexplainable phenomena. Those are unreal, so they've no mass => weight= mass*9.8= 0*9.8= 0.
