i think when your nervous pple usually end up biting there nails or it turns out to be a bad habit.. but you can try to stop by getting nail polish that is made for this.. it smells and tastes bad so when you try to bite ur nails again.. u stop urself

First off ewww.
Second, doesn't that hurt? Some of my friends still bite their nails and I try to smack the habit outta of them, but I'm not always their to smack them.
Third, I used to bite my nails up until middle school. The way I stopped was pure strength of will. My friend had long nails and I was envious so I stopped so I could have long nails too. It was hard, I can't lie, but I felt better that I stopped. The way I would appease my naile bitin cravings was by nibbling on my nails. Not biting down, not pulling off, just nibbling.

maybe you bite your nails out of anxiety, nervousness, or you're just plain bored. what you can try is buy a special nail polish sold at drug stores that tastes REALLY bad and it will keep you from biting your nail. you can also get it at a Sally's Beauty Supply store.Or, you could also try rubbing something spicy on your nails (sounds weird but it works) like a jalapeno or something and it will be spicy when you bite your nails. you could also use motivation like see someone with really pretty, LONG, nails and stop yourself from biting yours so you can have nails like that too. hope i helped. =]

Well I was in the same situation as you when i was your age. Usually this happens when you get nervous or bored. All you need to do is try to keep yourself busy and calm, dont get stressed out. I know its easier said then done but this is all you need to do to get healthy nails. Now I am working as a doctor at a hospital in California and I get many patients that come in and show me there hands and they are just simply discusting. I tell them this and they come back within two months and there fingers had improved dramatically. If you do take my advice I hope it works out. If you dont well... I hope you find something else that can help you.

It's nerves. Try acrylic nails. Those aren't fun to bite.
