well i think it would be best if you came up with a WOW plan with them. figure out what worries them the most about the game. if its the money then you might have to pay it yourself or do more chores, etc. if its the time spent, you should talk to them about using the time limit feature on WoW. those are the two biggest issues that i can think of.

Hmm...well if it is a money problem then try a private server, they dont have as many people as the public servers and are possibly a little less addictive

if its a fear of addiction problem then you will have to show them that you are able to control yourself or only allow yourself to play on certain days or something

it can also be good for learning to program, if you get into the macro building bit so you can custom make actions and all that it is a good building ground for programming and with private servers if you are experienced enough and are dedicated enough you can become a GM or something which is good administration practice

First off, have you had problems spending too much time on games before? It make things difficult if you have. What I would do is ask, nicely and if they have a problem, let it go, for now. Show them you're mature enough to respect them, and you might get some from them. If you have good grades, and help out at home, show them you'll keep it up when you're playing. Earn the money for it yourself. Show them the parental controls. All these could help.

Well one thing that you must worry about is you have to consider the possiblity that you might engage yourself in a game which is considered a very addictive game. We gamers all know that World of Warcraft is a very addictive game and you must first ask yourself if you can discipline yourself in playing this game, if you can, you can tell your parents that you will only set few hours in playing this game and will still be aware of your progress in life( your job or studies), if they don't still want to let you play this game, ask why they want to prevent you. Understand the factors why they don't want you to play and try to understand thes things because they might be right.

Tell them that this is much more than an action game. There is strategy and economics. Co-operation with others. Political models. There is a lot to be learned that relates to real life.

Then tell them the players that succeed in this game generally have high I.Q.s.

Then tell them that you'll except there being able to pull the plug on it if your grades suffer. (Then try to even improve your grades while your playing. Your parents will almost insist you play if they think its actually making you smarter, lol)

Okay now this is a very addicting game, but this can also help. Suggest to your parents that you will get on after everything they asked you to do is done. Also, WoW can even teach you good people skills and leadership skills. Just last night I was helping a guild get his mount and I was in charge! If you do play get on staghelm put Necris as friend he horde warlock undead. Also email me.

One thing that you could do is make a compromise by setting aside specific times to play WOW. Show your parents the parental controls link on www.worldofwarcraft.com and try to make set aside certain times to play. For instance, you could make a schedule that only allows you to play on the weekends. That way your parents would be happy because you are not playing all the time, and you'll still be able to play it on the weekends.

You could put it in your resume, as leader of a guild or some such. This could be an argument to use. If that fails, you could use Mind Control on them then have them make hatcheries, get some ultralisks, and take over yhe world. Your choice.
