The career just evolved through my experience. I am always learning new things about myself and the marketplace, so I'm just going with the flow of whatever comes my way. I'm answering your questions because I searched for "neuropsychology" and saw one of your answers and then went from there. I have a psychology/neuropsychology background. My interest is primarily neuroscience, and I am hoping to start working for a medical device manufacturing company soon.

I'm a software engineer. I've always excelled at math and science, and would have loved to get a degree in either math or physics, but I chose electrical engineering, because at the time, I perceived that it was a field with a very lucrative future. After earning my BSEE in '92, further education was not an option due to financial constraints. I began my career as an electrical engineer, but was disillusioned by the fact that it was hard for me, as an entry level EE with only a BS, to break into a position that allowed me to do any really creative work. On, the other hand, I had been writing software as a hobby since high school, so I quickly found myself employed as a software engineer. It's not my dream career, but it has its moments.

I never liked teachers.
It was raining in Melbourne. It was Friday.
I had various kinds of work there but was really just shopping around. Every employer asked me to stay. I eased myself out respectfully.
I had gone to an interview for a job training to teach in New Guinea. I had paid out on the excesses of colonialism and the need to maintain and and enrich traditional culture so I knew that I wouldn't be accepted. I was wrong. I responded "Yes" to the replied paid telegram.
My friends gave me THE BEST send off party and poured me onto the train to Sydney with a carton of beer.
I do say so myself. I was an excellent teacher.

it's an easy job and yet you can make a life time career out of it
Hotel night audit, good money you work with a boss standing behind you watching every move, and a lot of other people work this shift, so when you get off work, you can still go party!

I decided on my job because I was good at it and it was one of my passions. Choose a job that you are naturally talented in. For example....if you are good with people...choose a job like sales,or something that you can interact with people more. If you can work alone being a administrator might be good. Those are just examples.

I was sitting in what is now "my" living room, watching a woman antagonize the boys in the group home here, then getting mad when they reacted to her (approach determines response, ya know?) I decided then that I should be running this place & now..... I am.
