I used to do that, too. Cologne has less alcohol, so I think it's probably not as damaging to the skin. The only thing you have to worry about is, are you making yourself smell so strong you offend others in your environment. Keep in mind how you feel when you are standing near an old woman who thinks she needs to bathe herself in cheap perfume. If you like the sting, then I reccomend first using straight rubbing alcohol, then putting on light touch of your favorite cologne. Much more effective when it doesn't overpower people.

Cologne has a much stronger scent than aftershave. It is designed to be used in very small amounts, while aftershave is designed to be put all over your face. If you run out of aftershave, use rubbing alcohol, then you can use a small amount of the cologne for the desired scent. Trust me, nobody is going to want to come within 10 feet of you if you use cologne as an aftershave.

It probably won't hurt your skin, but cologne's scent is designed to be stronger and longer-lasting than aftershave, so using it in this manner is likely going to result in you wearing WAY too much scent.
By the way, don't trust yourself to be able to judge by smell if you're wearing too much aftershave or cologne. The human nose is able to acclimate itself to even powerful smells pretty quickly, so, while you might not even notice your strong smell of cologne, those around you surely will.
So save the aftershave for, well, after shaving. With cologne, use only one or two dabs on several pulse points, or spray once into the air then walk quickly through the mist.
And body sprays... Ugh. Stay away from them. Too smelly and too strong.

After shave is for young boys and rednecks......use a small amount of lotion on your face after shaving. Then spend some money on some nice cologne.....rub into your hands and apply to face and hair....spray a little on your clothes or wipe on. The good stuff will last til the next day...and smell better as they day or night goes on.

I don't even use aftershave. I just use hot water. It works for me. So I suppose cologne would work. But I don't use cologne, either because it makes me sneeze.

Two reasons not to do this. 1. It will burn like hell. 2. Never, ever bathe in cologne. The bees will smell you from a mile away.

I like Versace and Gucci colognes. Versace Baby Blue is my favourite. Tommy Hilfiger is nice too.

One that has been around a long time but is very nice and I love it on my man is St. Johns Bay Rum. Not sissy perfume like some of the newer ones.
