How embarassing does it have to be to be him every week?

I'm not trying to put him down, I feel bad for him. The longer he goes on the more of an obvious joke he becomes. Sure he'll make money, but, man, it's got to be down right embarassing. How does he face his competitors when the cameras are off?

that's what im saying! the people who vote him in every week are making the poor kid look like a fool up there. i bet he even knows he sucks compared to the others so he tries to mess up his performances on purpose. if he still has an ounce of pride beneath all that big moppy hair, he should just man up and quit the show. otherwise he's just embarrassing himself, his entire family, and the town he's from. i wonder if he even knows about the whole controversy surrounding him... because if he does can you imagine how much that would hurt his self-confidence? yikes... i almost feel sorry for the kid..... well.... not all that much. i quit watching idol since last week because of this mockery.

He may have an inkling that he is being discussed at length in the media but from what I understand, the contestants don't get a whole lot of time to watch tv or read anything to know exactly what the public is saying about them. I'm guessing they get the majority of their info from family members and I suspect that Sanjayas family isn't about to tell him what a big joke he's become....

He must realize how ridiculous he looks and that he's continually making a fool out of himself -- and just doesn't care! How else could you ignore articles all over the Internet, in newspapers, magazines -- everywhere?! I guess it's also rather admirable that he continues to go back up there on national television week after week, instead of backing down . . . maybe that's why he keeps getting so many votes.
In any case, America is quite amused by his unpredictable antics and he's sure getting a lot of publicity (although for the wrong reasons . . . )!!

I think Mommy and Daddy need to take the cell phones away from the teeny-boppers who are voting for him. He sucks and he knows it!!! Even he is surprised when he isn't kicked off b/c he knows that the ones leaving are better than him!!! If he makes it to the finale, he won't win!! If you read the small print, the show has the right to pick who wins.

Not everyone thinks he is a joke.
I think he is a good singer. He is just young and doesn't have enough experience to project his voice and doesn't have the showmanship on stage.
You guys are way too harsh on him. He definitely IS NOT A JOKE.
People like you and some others on here are trying to make it seem like he is a joke.
It reminds me of grade schoolers who gang up on a kid and make fun of him. Haven't you out grown that behavior? Stop and think about it.
Sanjaya can sing. He has a really nice voice. Could you do it?
One or two people decide to pick on a person and then some more start and it becomes a mob type mentality. It is scary the way people start behaving.
Just like I said, there is mob mentality on here and I knew there would be many thumbs down for my answer because I have a mind of my own.
That's okay, I would rather be a person who thinks by herself than one who just follows the crowd, per se.

That is part of his appeal!

I know the kid has to feel like crap.........I am sure he is a nice kid and he is gonna profit from all of this hipe for sure.......but it is way to fun to rip on his lame hair and crappy singing
