If you already have a class 2 or B you can drive a solo and the only thing to "learn" is which levers to pull and how to not put up the box on an angle and flop the thing.

A Class A or 1 truck and pup is a whole 'nother story.

Just like any other t&t they require a wide swing on turns and of course unlike a 5th wheel set up the pintle hitch is 25 feet behind you changing the calculations for turning and backing drastically.

Many smaller companies use 5 yard dump trucks and that might be a good place to cut your teeth. Those are class C/3 mostly unless they have air brakes.

There are also roll-off trucks that you can drive with a B or 2 or whatever they call it there now.

Just get your license, and dmv abstract and as the saying goes... let your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages.

If you need a license upgrade check with the unemployment office for a list of vocational truck driving schools.
