Purdue, from what I've heard, especially for small animal such as felines/canines. Really outstanding research facilities and progress in FIV (feline immunovirus). Look up the university online. If large animal such as equine/bovine is more to your interest, you might want to add University of Nevada at Reno, as Nevada is is a "rodeo" state, and don't rule out Texas A&M.

It's great there check out kingsville.org The cost of living is pretty low so you can actually afford to be a college student there. Good job in planning ahead, your parents should be proud!

Texas A&M is the best that I know of in veternary science. I've heard Tufts University in Boston is also good.
