i heard from a friend that this guy who comes into my work liked me, and he started giving me complements saying he liked my hair/clothes etc.. anyways he asked me out and i said "yes" and turned around and walked away, the next time i saw him he asked if i was free and i said i was busy. I saw him in the street a week or so later and started flirting with him, and he asked for my number, and i gave it to him...he called a few days later, and when i answered and he said who he was i pretended i didnt know who he was, after he explained who he was i said "oh sorry" and hung up on him... now he acts weird around me...

Your story holds all the clues to what the problem is--afraid to say it ,but it was you. I seem to get the impression that first off a social set-up should never happen at work--for any reason. You gave all kinds of inconclusive messages to him that probably left him mystified--surprised he kept trying. If you are interested in an adult meeting with him, apologize for the past and offer to buy him coffee so you can sit and talk and get to know each other. Pick a nice public spot, even offer to pay to make up for the mistakes--then drop it. Try to develop an idea of where this guy has been and where he is going in his life..see if you have anything in common. Maybe you do and maybe you don't......you don't owe him much more than that conversation opportunity. This time act as a mature young woman, dress appropriately, show self confidence and charm. Do not give out too much personal info---one phone number will do. Copy his license plate number and tuck it away--just in case---do not overdo the reactions--let it develop slowly---hope he is OK and on the level--but be alert and be safe. Forget the past....look to the future. Be nice, smile and have fun---good luck

What is the deal with you?
Y did you pretend you didn't know who it was and y did you hang up on him?
If you were not interested in him, you should have said so in the first place....

The reason he is acting weird is cuz he thinks you are a waste of time or he is playing the hard to get game so you would go running around him....who knows!

you are whats wrong and nothing is wrong with him.. why lead him on by saying yes and giving him your phone number if you were going to act like you don't know him... I hope he moves on because with a friend like you there cant be any relationship... Sorry if i was harsh but damn that was a mean thing to do if you have no intention of dating this person

What do you mean what's the deal with him, to me you are the one that acted strange. All he's done is try and ask you out and you give him mixed messages. Why would you hang up on him? Do you or don't you want to go out with him? He probably won't try to pursue you anymore.

never ever ever have sexual work relationships, when they go bad and they always do, you will still have to see them everyday or quit, and of course everybody at work will know about it.
