I am bruised and battered. My arm is shattered and my wrist is full of steel. The main arteries were cut in my arm and my knuckles look like I was in a bar room brawl. I can barely move my fingers after the three operations and I am fearful that I may require one more, because when the cast was off my wrist was bent downward. My faith is strong and I spend my nights awake in between the medication and short periods of sleep. I am alive but not living. I can browse images but that is where it ends. Before it is over I will be sort of rebuilt and my understanding about pain has been forever changed. I found myself looking for glimpses of female compassion, something that has been void in my life for a long time, something that injured people seem to want even more during these moments of pain. Please forgive me if I have offended you, I am only human.
