Do they consider the consequences that may come along with having a child. Perhaps the child will aquire an awful disease. The child will have to face many hardships and injustices throughout life. etc. etc. you get my point. Or do they simply say "oh having a kid might be fun, they are so cute, lets have one!"?

Most don't think about it, but then it's been that way since the beginning of time. How many people can say their parents planned their conception? Most of us are here by accident if nothing else by surprise, but your parents are not going to tell you that, because what we have today was not a luxury they had back then. If a woman got pregnant they usually got married & raised their child & had more children too & lived with the hand they were dealt to play with.
Times are somewhat better about procreating but not by much.
Evolution has evolved the the song remains the same. :)

In some cases yes and in some no. But one can say that about anything, let alone having children. A self-centered person does not consider anyone else and there are millions of self-centered people who have children. That is why there is such an outcry for foster parents. There are people out there who continue to have children and cannot support them or are too drugged out to support them and then there are couples who cannot have children and get put through the hell to adopt a child. The people who actually make the conscious choice not to have children are looked down upon and ridiculed for being selfish. At least they recognize it and don't bring a child into the mix. Once the child is here, it is all about the child. The self-centered parents obviously don't get that concept. Ever wonder why there are so many children in foster care?

Hell no! They just have unprotected sex like primitive apes! It doesn't really hit them that a human being is on the way until the water breaks in the trailer. When the baby starts to crown in the back of the 1974 Plymouth on the way to the hospital, that's when they realize that an actual human being is on the way. Then they realize that this means more money from the gov't so they decide to purposely have another.

I think that the people that think about all the potential consequences don't have kids. I think most people that have kids are thinking that they'll be cute or it'll be fun. I think that alot of people take for granted that their kids will be healthy and everything will turn out well. I have a sister that is mentally retarded and it wasn't fun for her or my parents growing up despite everyones best efforts. It's just been really sad. I don't want kids.

I think some people do think about the heavy responsibilty of raising a kid before having a kid- but they feel they are worth the risk, the burden and the emotional upheaval.

A small portion dont have the oppurtunity to think about it, they were just put in that situation...

some in all likelihood do, some do not. i imagine each person could intently weigh each thing in the previous having little ones. there's a lot to guage that the alternative should not be taken gently. at the same time as human beings imagine of raising young children, even with the reality that, they specially imagine, "Will I have a woman or a boy?" "Is our marriage solid and are we committed in the previous we convey a newborn in this international?" "Are my funds such that i visit properly have the funds for to have slightly one?" those type questions are solid to ask and extremely common. yet human beings do not really imagine about the hardships, diseases and injustices which could befall their newborn. each body is conscious existence is a chance and human beings take it because the excitement of having slightly one outweighs the flair hardships.

You have to have a permit to hunt. You have to have a license to drive. You have to have a license to run a business.

--But there are no guidelines, courses, or licensing to have a child!

What a crazy world we live in......there are great parents out there....but man, there are some real nutballs who should never be allowed to bare children!
