I get at least two fake friend requests every day. These "profiles" are created by pornographic websites in which they intentionally deceive young men to sign up for a webcam service. I just deny the friend requests one by one and report them every once in a while; MySpace hasn't really done much about this.
I have accumulated 25 or so friends in the year that I've had a MySpace profile, so I am very selective when it comes to random people asking to be my friend. But the fake profiles are beyond ridiculous.
I am a 19 year old college student, so I should mention that I also have a Facebook profile. Facebook is an unquestionably easier (and better) networking site in my opinion compared to MySpace for obvious reasons, like no friends advertising Viagra on my wall, no fake friend requests, etc.
So: should I delete my MySpace profile altogether and browse Facebook exclusively, or is there a way to limit the amount of fake friend requests/fake bulletins/wall advertising I get?
