Holding your breath, drinking a glass of cold water or eating a teaspoon of sugar can help stop hiccups. You may also try holding a paper bag to your mouth and breathing in and out for a few minutes.

Have a glass of water standing by. Light a match. Drop it in the water, fish out the stick and quickly drink the water.

My granddaughter takes a teaspoon of peanut butter and eats it and they stop and she gets those gut wrenching ones...try it!
Me? I know that hiccups are just trapped air in your diaphram so I just change my breathing patterns and they go away...

This always works for me.
Plug your nose and then blow.
Either that or holding my breath works,
and drinking water also works.
