No it is way to expandable-- they haven't even scratched the surface when it comes to the possibilities of what the wii is capable of-- Heck the whole family gets use of it-- even when grandma comes over she uses it to get news from -- she says it's quicker then going online from the computer.
It's not a fad it's a cult classic and microsoft is running scared cause they haven't even began to create an online community just for socializing like sony (home) and Wii have done.
Microsofts operating code is too easy to hack so they probably fear puting a browser on the xbox platform.
We own all three for testing and we way underestimated the Wii. We thought it was a joke until we began really putting it through the works.. It's a great system --- as are all of them but microsoft better start giving their loyal fans some freebees at least the hddvd drives otherwise blue ray will become the standard. Xbox Games are great but people want it all for their money.

Unlike Tickle me Elmo and Furby, the Wii is a game console, in which you have changeable games and stuff you can play.
I haven't heard about the thing about what the Microsoft employee, but all I know is that the Wii, Xbox360, and PS3 are in the same generation. The employee would be mocking them all by calling them all just a fad.

all games systems are fads, essentially until the companies decide to build a new system. Sure Wii will only be around for a little while, but that will be because of Nintendo's next big system not because it's a "fad" in the negative sense of the word.

Of course microsoft said that...they are in direct competition with the Wii through the 360...they only said that cos they are scared the Wii will take away even more of its market share once more games and controller expansions come out

They are full of it. We have a Wii, everybody that has played it loved it. It is really fun. Gets you off your butt. A lot of game websites have rated the Wii higher than the 360 and PS3.

I agree, the Wii is overrated. It's fun but it's not a "next gen" console. It's a gimmick and even at half the price of a PS3, it's overpriced for the hardware you get. I have a Wii and a PS3, the Wii is a toy, not really in the same class of machine at all.
