Well, Tiger, if the whole World becomes one huge Malaysia, establishing colonies on Mars will be humanity's first priority.

Of course, Malaysian eyes...then the whole would turn blind (for truth)! LoL

No. Nurhaliza cares about 2 points, not 10. How humble!=) LoL
Well, Nurhaliza, if you don't care about the points, don't bother to answer.

Effendi, there isn't much Islamic about Malaysia. Malaysia already is secular and Islam is only a subject of politicians' manipulations.

1) following your own rules.
2) making your cities and tourist areas safer by spending needed infrastructure money on the city not on politicians bank accounts.
3) eliminating corruption.
4) trying to help poor people who work hard to help others.
5) getting people who work hard to hurt others into jails or teaching them better ways to solve problems other than violence. such as taking pride in a skill that that they can use.
6) Infrastructure- power plants/ water treatment/ schools that are funded well. paying the workers a desirable salary to keep good workers, training lazier workers in methods to be more productive rather than firing them and creating more angry poor people who turn to violence.
7) ensuring people can speak what they believe without worrying about jail time for spoken words (which usally are BS)
8) Ensuring people who DO bad things (rather than say bad things) go to jail.
9) Having controls over leaders who misuse their power. A system of checks and balances to make sure that leaders who misuse power can be removed peacefully and with respect.

Then I think everyone in the world would be envious and your society would be a happy place, and people might feel that working together was a good thing.

But given the reality of the situation in Malaysia and the traditions handed down by many leaders across Asia, all the above are easier said than done. But if they WERE done, then most problems would be resolved.

Queue up - if the British can do it, why can't we?!

Free English lessons sponsored by government - they're responsible for the poor standard by forcing BM on us.

Our judicial system is a mockery. Foreigners are laughing at us after Annuar's been acquitted. A "politically motivated trumped up charge" - It's true after all, & yet nobody believe him at that time.

KL taxi drivers - famous for scamming tourists. If they're half as good as Singapore's, tourists will be more than happy.

Nothing much can be done with only little effort. Ideas and suggestions in here doesn't make any difference on how to improve the image of Malaysia. Since we are talking about the eyes of foreigners, then it is up to the foreigner to like or dislike the country and the people.

Try posting this question in all the countries, all you need to do is change the country name only.. See what sort of respond or argument you rec'd.

I would've attempt to answer this question if it was posted in another part of Yahoo Answers but since its here... they're good suggestions but I doubt this will make any changes anytime soon or probably never since Malaysians, will deny your questions with all those "why don't you compare other countries too??? why us? why me? why Malaysians?" and tell you that there are countries that are worse off than their beloved home.

I guess that a true Malaysian will never admit their fallacies and will show you how great of a country they are and they will tell you that foreigners LOVE Malaysia.

Then they'll tell you that you cannot ask this question here because you're not Malaysian.

hmm.. why do u always come up with some intellectual questions? why cant uthink of tickling a tiger, dog or a cow? i always wanted to cuddle on a tiger. well, only if youcould help me clip off his nail and pulloff his teeth. hey have u ever thought of keeping ur life simple, chill and easy going? You would most probably live a stress free life. Dont bother much on improving image of malaysia. It is reputable compare to its neighbouring countries like indonesia, THAILAND, etc. You just need to educate yourself to have good moral values and others will follow yourfootsteps.. and the chain continues.. yeah, you gotta tickle too in between...

As an expat living in Malaysia 3 things leap to my mind.

1. respect other people, slow down and stop shoving your way in front of others, particularly the elderly.

2. ban motor cycles.

3. be more considerate in your driving, think about what you are doing, if you would not like it, dont do it to others.

revert to a secular state rather than staying an islamic state... that, I think, at the moment is unfortunately the greatest stigma throughout the world. People don't know Malaysia, they hear 'islamic' and they close their shutters... but of course, tha't won't happen, just as much as corruption will not disappear soon, as much as we would like it. International travellers don't know about all that... they only hear 'islamic' nowadays!
