do you mean "into where is the universe expanding" and thereby asking what is beyond the universe?
A very thought-provoking question that has really had me wondering. Because one thinks of the universe as the top-level denomination of order (with sub-atomic particle being the lowest-level denomination). And what can be larger or ordered higher than the universe itself?
When I think of what's beyond, my head aches because the possibilities are out of bounds and limitless. And to think that the moon is so majestic because of its distance and foreign nature. Then to think of the exponential and incalculable wonders that are beyond that ...
There I go again.

I think that it is expanding into nothing there is nothing there until the universe expands there. There are two types of nothing as I see it. Nothing like a vacuum and nothing as in absolutely nothing.

Stretch a rubberband until its breaks... Thats my best example of what the universe is doing. Its wont snap anytime soon but billions of years from now, maybe...
