Only the little kids should! The older kids are family or close, no? So they are there to support, not as actual participants for the party!

I can see where your coming from on this. You know if you really must get goody bags for them why not hit the dollar store. You can always find some cute little trinkets there. Or just put candy in the bags. There is plenty of Ideas out there.

But ya know I don't think that they would really care to be honest with ya, It is your Baby's first. There wont be any games that the baby can play anyway. There all there to see your baby.

Have fun!!!!

give them only till 12 years old and don't get the same things
from 1 to 3 some kind of toys
from 4 to 6 another kind
from 7 to 12 another kind
for the kids over 13 plan a game and buy a surprise for the winner, explain before the game starts that that is they challenge for they goody bag because they are way too big to please and explain it as a joke the will understand

YOU should plan on tring to give every one something.MAKE cookie goodie bags the cookies seems to me to go further then candy.and put one piece of candy per bag. AND yes a 17 year olds is still a kid. 16 months old can eat cookies too.

Hmm... this is a difficult situation... well, just casually pass the goody bags out and if a older kid asks for one just jokingly say something of this sort, "oh come on, you don't need a goody bag" give them a friendly smile/smirk.

i have 2 daughters and even though it can be a pain, i usually customize goody bags per age...for babies, i give a little baby book or stuffed animal and then for older kids i give a little candy, usually a lollipop and a little toy, or stickers...it all depends on how much you wanna give...
as for the older kids, i don't give them goody bags, but i do have some cousins who are in their early teens and i know what kinds of candy they do like so i give them some...
and a lot of these items don't have to be expensive...you can get a large bag of mixed candy or you can find some good toys at dollar stores or party stores....
hope it helps!

just make the party good fun and he kids wont expect any goodie bags. Make all the things in them available anyway for the kids, but just not in a bag. tell them they can take the stuff home if they want

17 years old ain't kids no more.... i think only from 2-12years old should get bags... And I've organised kids parties before and most of the time you have heaps left over because you forget to give them out. Maybe just forget to give some out on purpose to the first one that leave...

I really don't think the 17 year old is going to mind not getting a gift bag.

Find a good cutoff in the age ranges. If there's one 17yr, a couple 16yrs, and the rest are younger than 5, it's a pretty clear cutoff.

bubbles (you can find a 6pack at walmart), themed items, snack treats (like gerber grad) stickers, little books

the 17 sounds more like an adult and not a kid i wouldnt feel bad about not giving a treat bag. you could give him/her a 5 dollar gift card if they helped u out with the party
