If I thought what they were doing was right, and it would serve a greater good to lie, then I would do so.

Philosophically, I think one should always try to uphold justice and the greater good. That may or may not be served by the truth.

Since you asked for examples, here's a theoretical one: I know that a cop lied under oath that he had read a pedophile his rights in full when he arrested him in an act of pedophilia, but in fact he had not completed reading the man his rights. Rather than telling the truth that the man had not finished reading them in full and forcing the courts to release the pedophile for miranda violations, and arrest the cop for perjury, I would lie and agree that his rights had been read to him in full.

If someone were to ask me where some of my friends are deployed to, I would make up something in order to protect them from danger. As a matter of fact, the last time I checked, they were at Disneyland..........

yip my best friends from what others say. i would do it for by friends and family. i have been invited to stuff like bdays that others arn't so lie to c over it up then lie to cover up those lies. it is really bad but i would do anything 4 my m8s.

ya, like one time me and 2 of my friends were driving my golf cart "wrecklessly" so we got pulled over by this cop, but one of my friends walked away, and i didnt rat her out.
