circumcision problems?

My son was circumcised at three weeks. It has been exactly ONE week since the procedure and i have seen that the tip of his penis (where it should have a visual ridge) is sticking to the shaft of his penis. Looked on internet and cant find anything about that happening. Has anyone had this problem? And if so, is it fixable?

That is known as "adhesions". It is a common complication of circumcision. If left untreated, they most usually resolve on their own, but in some cases they do not and result in permanent scarring, known as skin bridges.

You do not want the corona (ridge of the penis head) sticking to the shaft of the penis; because both tissues are essentially raw when circumcised in infants, they may heal together and fuse. It needs to be separated or skin bridges could form, potentially causing pain or problems later on. Skin bridges are exclusively a complication of infant circumcisions due to the nature of the infants' penile skin.

Go to the doctor's immediately to get it taken care of. Also ask the doctor to instruct you on the proper care of his newly circumcised penis so this doesn't happen. Too many people think that once circumcised there isn't much care, but for the first few weeks there is probably a lot more post-op care than an uncircumcised penis would likely need. First.... How was the circumcision done? Since you didn't mention a plastic ring being used I am assuming that they performed a routine circ using a clamp. It sounds like they didn't take off quite enough skin to position the scar behind the rim. Your Dr. or nurse should have instructed you to push the remaining skin back onto the shaft of the penis daily so that the scar line does not attach itself to the head.
Examine the scar line closely. if it has not completely healed yet, use your thumb and forefinger to push the skin back off the head and keep it pushed back until it heals. Use Vaseline around the scar and the head to prevent it from sticking to the head and growing back.

Go to a doctor before it gets infected if its not already. This happens, but its not a good thing.
