I'm sure there are many other areas, but hopefully those above will spark some ideas of your own.
Teaching is also an option, but if your heart is not in teaching, then don't do it.

A friend of mine is a very successful History major...but a teacher :) I don't know what your interests are because you haven't mentioned them, but one cool thing I know of a history major doing is working at an auction house. Because you are likely very detail oriented and interested in the past/how it affects the future, talking about people's things would come naturally, and it's a lot more lucrative than some other things.
I also know one history major who's doing so well he's thinking of buying a house, but he lives in DC. He's had success working in museums and for the government in human resources, where the skills form his undergrad major definately apply.

You can go into a lot of things like museum curating or become an author. You could also work in the business field or go to law school.
