I am helping an elderly lady who's a good friend and a student to move to the nursing home. What gets me really worried is that he husband had passed away and she doesn't have any children. With a house to sell and stuff accumulated over that last 30 years(among which are lots of valuable antiques, furniture, etc...) in the house, she is doing almost everything by herself. Her mind is alright but at least twice in the past that she forgot that she already paid me for her lessons and other things and wanted to pay me again. And she doesn't really have very clear memories about lots of things. She has a real estate agent, and she just assumes this woman will be good and honest and oversee all the details of her move(without even signing any contract). she trusts that since the company she wants to hire for packing and moving will do a good job because they are a Big Name(United Van Lines).

I am greatly frustrated also because every single time I asked her if she had all the things that she thinks the company an the real estate agent will provide, she gets furious and refuse to talk about it. I am not sure she even remembers where some really important papers are in the house.

She has a nephew who lives in a different state and they have small children and full time jobs. I don't mind helping her(even though I don't want to get into the attorney what ever business, I am just a concerned friend) but every time I ask rational, logical questions as I try to help her sort out what she should do next, she either tells me I am putting her on a witness stand.

or she says that these people are good and she's not stupid. Over the time I have known her, I have witnessed her being ripped off or taken advantage of by her cleaning people, her car dealer, her limo driver, the repairman, the computer sales person, her neighbors, and I don't even want to think about what might happen with her being elderly and having some minor neuro problems when she has to deal with moving and the rest of the unknown
