Why North Korean Military is so feared by South Korea?

Why not One Korea?

Cuz that's the communist half. South Korea is a thriving capitalist society with freedom. North Koreans are starving to death and are told they are dying because of the US.

I'm not sure how advanced their nuclear weapons are, but the south is mostly scared that they'll open the border and flood all their poor refugees into their country.

Kinda like our southern border, but in reverse.

Thats funny, Ive been stationed in Korea twice, and the second time I worked with the Korean Army, fear the north? Korea has one helluve alot more capable Army then the world gives it credit for. And if the North came back down south again, it would be a bloodb bath, Kim Jong Il knows it too. Why he hasn't, and never will come.
Actualy hats off to robert, they discuss that often in the south, about what will happen when north koreas dominoes fall. Same thing happened to west germany, and they are still climbing out of the mess.

north korea is crazy, they are ruthless and sneaky. the save all they're money for war. people live without electricity and real poor to pay for war and everyone that lives there is in the military. south koreans do not agree with the beliefs of north koreas leader

Could it be a dictator runs N Korea? Do you realize they pray to him like he is some kind of god.

What I am wondering is since the new Secretary General of the UN is from S. Korea, I wonder why they have not put tougher sanctions on them..... you would think they would give it to him as a perk.
