WIC is alot of help, I am in memphis, I am not sure what the difference is in your city, but it should be the same. You can get WIC while you are pregnant, they give u cheese, beans, milk and cereal and eggs. Once the baby is here, the first visit to the wic office they get a physical, the child has to be up to par on its shots in order to get wic, but for the first year they give u 9 cans of 12 oz powder formula a month, like 15 6oz of juice, the boxed cereal. It helps alot! By the time the kids reaches 12 months they are due for a new physical, they must have all its shots, at this point the wic upgrades, you get cheese, dried beans, rice crispies, JUICY JUICE, milk and eggs. It ussually lasts thru the month if your child isnt a huge eater. You should contact your local wic off and find out about it, I am married and i get it. We dont even need it but hey it helps! I HOPE I HELPED!
Congrats on the baby!

im 20 and i have a 5month old girl who im raising on my own(which wsnt the plan)and wic was so helpful during my pregnancy and so far its been a lifesaver. my doctors office also has a wic program onsite, but if yours doesnt than im sure just searching for a local wic office online would tell you where to go to sign up and all that, try www.wicworks.ca.gov which is the website in one of the booklets they gave me. they help you out with food, and specificaly food that is good for you and your developing baby.you get either 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 gallons of milk a month, a pound of cheese a dozen eggs, 2 bottles of apple juice and 2 bottles of another kind of juice, beans or peanut butter and up to 32 oz of certain cereals every month while your pregnant and then if u breastfeed exclusivly you keep getting all that plus carrots and tuna.if ur gonna bottle feed then you get enough formula to feed them.its a very good program to get on, and its not very difficult to get on.also they make you go to classes every couple months which are pretty cool cuz they teach you stuff about how to take care of your baby, which is really helpful especialy if you dont have alot of time to take childbirth classes and stuff while your pregnant. hope this helps, and if u have anymore questions shoot me off and email and ill help you out

WIC gives u "little checks" for Milk,Eggs, cheese, juice and beans or peanut butter on u until, I think 6 months post natal but don't quote me on the time. And they help with formula for the baby until a year they also help with baby cereal and juice for infants, then as they get older they get milk, cheese, eggs, juice, and beans or peanut butter until age 5 as long as they qualify. You should also look into Pregnancy Medicaid it covers your pregnancy (with some restrictions) and post pregnancy health, then birth control, and the baby for a year. Hope that helps.
Oh and WIC gave my friend a breast pump because she went back to work.
OH yeah and cereal....I forgot about that.

Call your local wic and make an apointment. They give you checks for milk, eggs, cheese, cereal, juice and more..after the baby is born, they will also give formula for the baby if you are not breastfeeding, if you are they will give tuna and carrots for you along with the milk and cereal etc....Your income does have to fall within certain limits, but the limits are not as low as welfare.

WIC will help you out with food for yourself and for your baby. Plus many other things. They can also put you on state aid if you need it for doctor visits, etc. They also have a clinic you can go to (usually within the same building) where they will do check ups, vacciniations, etc. To get set up, go to your local health deptartment, if you don't know where one is check the phone book or online for your state and city, and make sure you know u're SS#, and other important information. I hope this helps a little bit and I wish you the best of luck, for both you and your baby!

wic will give you milk, eggs, cheese,,juice, cereal, peanut butter until you have the baby.and then once you have the baby you will get the same stuff(only if your breastfeeding) and formula for the baby along with cereal for the baby when he or she is like 6 months or so. and then once the baby has reached a year old they will give you milk and eggs and stuff for the baby.and you qualify for it based on your household income. they will let you know more about it when you set up an appointment. all you have to do to do that is call your local human resource department and they will give you the number to wic.

WIc gives you milk, eggs, cereal, juice, cheese and peanut butter while you are pregnant and if you breast feed, if the baby drinks formula they give you enough formula for a month, sometimes you may need to buy 2-3 cans. They also give you nutritonal information and education and use the appointments to make sure your baby is growing correctly. They also assist with breast feeding. The child qualifies until he/she is 5 years old, you qualify while pregnant and breastfeeding. Also look into welfare for food stamps and medical coverage. Good luck sweetie
