I just always added the cereal to whatever baby food I was feeding my daughter. I also fed my daughter a variety of different foods and she never stopped liking the vegetables, but all babies are different. I dont know why she HAS to have veggies before fruit, the only reason drs tell you that is so they wont refuse veggies after they eat fruit, but if thats going to happen, its going to happen whether she has tried all the veggies first or not. So I would say, mix it in with whatever baby food you wanted to feed her, just be careful to only feed her one kind of baby food for a few days to watch out for food allergies!!!

I use to mix the cereal in with the vegetables. Somehow it tastes different & the baby will eat it. Or, add a small amount of fruit at the end of the spoon when giving cereal...... as baby's like the taste & will end up eating the cereal & the fruit!!

I mixed the fruit baby food in with it instead of water or milk . I know my first child though quit taking baby food all together at 8 months he didn't like the texture . I had to start him on the Gerber graduates . maybe he was 10 months . Anyway till this day he will not eat apple sauce .

Mix the veggies with some cereal and feed the fruit plain by itself

She does not need cereal. She cant digest it anyway (infants don't produce enough amylase, the enzyme to digest grains) so it's really pointless to give it to them.

Stick with the fruits and veggies... fresh as often as possible... you can give her softboiled egg yolks to help with iron (although, formula has plenty of iron already)

Shes smart. She knows whats good for her... follow her lead.

first she needs more than two days or three days on a new food More like 7. And try thickening up the cereal. or mixing it with the vegetable you are using that week.

My daughter liked to do things herself, so I would put her in her highchair with a VERY large bib or one of your t-shirts. Put the food in a bowl and let her have at it. It will be messy and more will get in her hair than in her mouth, but it will make for cute pictures. Plus, she can go at her own pace. If you're more into flatware, babies r us has little spoons with holes in the bottom to the food kind of sticks to it. They also have these peg type things.

I always added applesauce to the cereal. They scarfed it down! Don't worry too much, as a lot of people feed their babies breast milk exclusively until they are 1 year old. Their digestive system is more able to handle it.
Enjoy your babe!

I always added applesauce or bananas to the cereal and i never used formula for the liquid i used white grape juice. it isnt going to hurt your baby to give her fruit just do it gradually so it doesnt upset her system she'll love i promise. and if she doesnt like rice cereal try oatmeal.
